No âmbito deste plano, a subsidiária de pagamentos do banco, Getnet, anunciou a assinatura de um acordo estratégico com a Payrails, uma fintech internacional especializada no desenvolvimento de software para transações e compras, indicou o jornal espanhol ‘El Expansión’. Fundada em Berlim em 2021, a empresa está em plena fase de crescimento depois de ter recebido uma injeção de capital de investidores como o fundo EQT, entre outros. Com esta aliança, o Santander espera adicionar tecnologia de ponta à sua plataforma de pagamentos de retalho, permitindo transações “mais fluidas, rápidas e seguras”, referiu a instituição bancária. Recentemente, a Getnet anunciou a assinatura de mais uma parceria, desta vez com a fintech brasileira Zig, dedicada à gestão de pagamentos ligados a atividades recreativas, pagamentos pré-pagos e outros métodos de transação. Com este acordo, a subsidiária do Santander vai oferecer serviços de pagamento sem atrito em mais de 300 terminais no Estádio da Luz, casa do Benfica. Além de acordos com empresas tecnológicas, o Santander está focado em estabelecer parcerias de pagamento que ofereçam serviços inovadores e personalizados para grandes clientes em setores como a alimentação e a logística, entre outros. É o caso, por exemplo, do recente acordo celebrado com o Grupo Pascual. A empresa de lacticínios vai contar com a tecnologia da Getnet para implementar uma solução de pagamento (denominada Get-TapOnPhone ) “que transforma os telemóveis dos seus estafetas em terminais de pagamento, eliminando o hardware, reduzindo erros e otimizando as operações logísticas”, segundo o Santander. Esta semana está marcada a assinatura de uma parceria com a tecnológica portuguesa Electro, através da qual os condutores de veículos elétricos em Portugal poderão pagar os abastecimentos nas estações de serviço simplesmente com um cartão bancário, sem necessidade de assinaturas ou acordos a longo prazo. Também em setembro, o Santander anunciou um acordo com a empresa mexicana de software para a hotelaria Soft Restaurant.
